Description
Outside the Block pattern uses 12 blocks from the Affairs of the Heart to create an heirloom look by using Wool Felt and Matte Embroidery Thread. Each applique piece will be precut using a cutting machine or tracing templates.
Outside the Block design uses Wool Felt or Bamboo Felt for the appliqué shapes on top of Black Wool Felt background. The appliqué shapes are cut out PRIOR to stitching the design by either tracing the paper pattern onto a paper/adhesive and hand cutting them or use a cutting machine to pre-cut the appliqué shapes.
The 12 blocks are from Aie Rossmann’s original design of Affairs of the Heart for hand appliqué. They have been transformed to have a more heirloom look by simulating hand stitching around each appliqué shape using an embroidery machine. Minimum stitch area for each block is 8” x 8” or 200mm x 200mm.
The embroidery files will only have the “Placement” stitches and “Cover” stitches for each appliqué shape. There will NOT be any “Tack Down” stitches as the appliqué shapes will be precut either by hand or by cutting machine.
